USRowing Welcomes Sarah May and Lizzie Seedhouse to Leadership Team
USRowing is pleased to welcome two key executives to its team, Sarah May as the new Chief Financial Officer and Lizzie Seedhouse as the new Chief Marketing Officer.
"As CEO of USRowing, I am thrilled to welcome Lizzie and Sarah to our team as Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Financial Officer, respectively. Both Lizzie and Sarah bring a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to their new roles," said Amanda Kraus. "It is an understatement to say that I am looking forward to working with them as we steer USRowing towards new horizons and achievements."
Joining USRowing's leadership team, Sarah May assumes the Chief Financial Officer role after a decade of work at the University of Virginia. She held multiple roles at the university, most recently as a senior financial analyst. Prior to that role, she was the Associate Athletics Director for Business Operations and handled the financial reporting, oversaw the annual budget process, and led the department's annual audit. Her previous experience with rowing includes working as the sports administrator for the UVA rowing team. She is passionate about sports, having been both a volleyball and basketball player and coach. With her background in financial management and strong understanding of sports operations, May will play a crucial role in USRowing's future.
"I am honored to join USRowing and help execute our mission to grow the sport of rowing," said May. "The ability to impact rowers at all levels is what draws me to this organization and I look forward to helping all rowers succeed."
As the new Chief Marketing Officer, Lizzie Seedhouse brings a wealth of experience and expertise in marketing strategy, brand management, and fan engagement. Her love for sports was ingrained from a young age - growing up playing soccer, she went onto play at the collegiate level for Saint Leo University. Seedhouse joins the team after working in professional sports and entertainment for the last 8 years. Six of which were spent at United Soccer League (USL) where she led marketing, communication, and brand strategies for seven league properties, and helped over 40 professional clubs improve their marketing and community engagement efforts. Seedhouse has a proven track record in DEI, leading gender equity and LGBTQ+ inclusion committees while also spearheading the Forever Proud Project, a year-round LGBTQ+ Inclusivity Campaign.
"With Paris 2024 around the corner, and LA 2028 on home soil, we have a tremendous opportunity ahead of us to build meaningful connections with hundreds of communities, and ignite the passion for rowing nationwide," said Seedhouse. "I'm thrilled to have the chance to help drive the sport forward through storytelling, brand marketing, and strategic partnerships that will continue to fortify the organization's mission towards growing and strengthening American rowing."
