2026 USRowing Spring Racing Season Gears Up
The 2026 championship season is just weeks away, and USRowing, along with youth crews across the country, is preparing for a thrilling series of regional championship regattas culminating in the 2026 USRowing Youth National Championships this June.
"We’re looking forward to continuing to elevate the experience for our athletes and coaches as we partner with our local organizing committees and coaches’ councils to deliver best-in-class events for our youth athletes," said Sarah McAuliffe, USRowing’s Senior Director of Programs. "These regattas set the stage for teams to challenge themselves, grow, and compete at their highest level, all culminating in the USRowing Youth National Championships at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Fla.”
The USRowing spring racing calendar is designed to challenge and elevate youth rowers, providing competitive opportunities that progress from regional qualifiers to the national championship stage. Each official qualifying regatta serves as a critical stepping stone, with performances determining qualification and building momentum heading into the 2026 USRowing Youth National Championships. Six USRowing Youth Regional Championships will qualify crews directly to the USRowing Youth National Championships, with additional select partner regattas also receiving bids to compete.
USRowing Southwest Youth Championships
The 2026 USRowing Southwest Youth Championships are scheduled for May 1–3, 2026, at Lake Natoma in Gold River, Calif., hosted in partnership with the Sacramento State Aquatic Center. This premier regional event brings together crews from across the Southwest to compete for regional championship titles and national qualification.
The Southwest has consistently excelled on the national stage, producing recent national champions, including Newport in the men’s pair and Marin in the women’s four.

USRowing Central Youth Championships
Also taking place May 1–3, 2026, the 2026 USRowing Central Youth Championships will be held on the Oklahoma River in the Boathouse District of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Hosted in partnership with Riversport OKC, the Central Championships attract junior crews from across the Central region to compete for regional honors and national qualification.
Dallas United Crew has developed several strong crews in recent years, while Founders Rowing Club earned a third-place finish in the women’s quadruple sculls at last year’s Youth National Championships, highlighting the region’s continued growth and competitiveness.

USRowing Mid-Atlantic Youth Championships
The 2026 USRowing Mid-Atlantic Youth Championships will be contested May 9–10, 2026, at Mercer Lake in West Windsor, New Jersey, hosted by USRowing and the Princeton National Rowing Association.
The Mid-Atlantic region has a storied history in both the men’s and women’s eight. St. Joseph’s Prep and PNRA/Mercer have consistently battled into the men’s A Final, while Mount Saint Joseph’s earned a sixth-place overall finish in the women’s eight, underscoring the depth and tradition of the region.

USRowing Southeast Youth Championships
The 2026 USRowing Southeast Youth Championships will take place May 9–10, 2026, at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Florida. This premier venue will host top crews from across the Southeast region as they race for regional titles and national qualification.
The Southeast consistently fields some of the nation’s most competitive crews across multiple boat classes, with powerhouse programs like Atlanta Juniors, Sarasota Crew, Triangle Rowing Club, and Belen Jesuit Preparatory Schoolregularly sending top boats to the Youth National Championships.

USRowing Northwest Youth Championships
The 2026 USRowing Northwest Youth Championships are set for May 15–17, 2026, in Vancouver, Washington. Hosted in partnership with the Portland Vancouver Lake Rowing Association, this regatta will showcase top Northwest crews competing for regional honors and bids to nationals.
Oregon Rowing Unlimited continues to produce some of the best quadruple sculls in the country. Pocock won the men’s four with coxswain last year, while Sammamish Rowing Association consistently fields multiple strong crews across events, making the Northwest a region to watch.

Northeast Youth Championships
The 2026 USRowing Northeast Youth Championships will be held May 16–17, 2026, at Mercer Lake in West Windsor, New Jersey. This championship provides athletes from across the Northeast region the opportunity to earn qualification for the USRowing Youth National Championships.
The Northeast features several perennial powerhouses, including RowAmerica Rye, Greenwich Crew, and Community Rowing, Inc. (CRI), all of which have consistently fielded A Finalists and national championship-caliber crews across multiple events.

Road to Youth Nationals in Sarasota
The season culminates at the 2026 USRowing Youth National Championships, scheduled for June 11–14, 2026, at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Florida — one of the world’s premier rowing venues. Qualified crews from across the country will converge for four days of high-level competition and celebration of youth rowing excellence.
