USRowing is committed to fair play. Senior Team coaches must submit the following requirements by the deadline below to be eligible to work with the national team. Failure to adhere to these requirements will results in the loss of eligibility. 

Senior Team Coach Requirements

  • USRowing Member Agreement & Waiver
  • SafeSport Training
  • NCSI Background Check
  • Passport
  • Level 2 Coaching Certification
  • Boating Safety License
  • First Aid & CPR Certified

Deadlines

  • Olympic Selection Camp: February 25, 2024
  • Olympic Trials: March 10, 2024
  • Senior Trials: June 16, 2024

USRowing Championship Membership

An active Championship Membership is required for national team coaches. To purchase or upgrade to Championship Membership, log into the USRowing individual member portal and click Upgrade or Renew depending on if you currently hold a membership or are nearing your expiration.


USRowing Member Agreement & Waiver

An active member agreement and waiver are required to have on file at all times. To review or sign the annual membership agreement and waiver, click Sign Agreement & Waiver once logged into the USRowing individual member portal. 


SafeSport Training

Coaches on the national team are considered Relevant Adult Participants per the U.S. Center for SafeSport and require annual SafeSport training. To complete the SafeSport training, log into your USRowing individual member portal using your member number and password. Once logged in, click SafeSport from the sidebar navigation.


NCSI Background Check

USRowing has partnered with the National Center for Safety Initiatives (NCSI) to provide discounted background checks to USRowing coaches. Background checks through NCSI must be renewed every two years. To initiate your background check, contact us.


Passport

All coaches working with USRowing's High Performance Team must have a passport that expires at least six months after all international travel.


Level 2 Coaching Certification

Level 2 Coaching Certification sets the standard for USRowing's coaching development program. It trains coaches to work with high school, master, collegiate, and high performance level athletes. Click the link below to learn more about the course and enroll.


Boating Safety License

Coaches must complete their state's Boating Safety course and be licensed. The course must be recognized by the U.S. Coast Guard and approved by NASBLA. 


First Aid & CPR Certified

Coaches can complete either an online or in-person class to become First Aid and CPR certified through the Red Cross. First Aid training must be renewed once every three years, and CPR certification must be renewed every two years. To register, follow the link below.
