Personal
Gus is the youngest of three. His brother was a swimmer at Princeton, and his sister was a rower at Tulane. Previously a swimmer, Gus started rowing when he injured his knee getting out of a pool. His father, Raoul, played football at Tulane and won a silver medal for Team USA in the four at the 1988 Olympics. Gus was named USRowing's Under 23 Male Athlete of the Year in 2021.
