October 2 marked the beginning of a week-long celebration of the importance of youth sports in physical fitness, mental well-being, and personal growth. Join us through Saturday, October 7, as we share stories, resources, and more that highlight the power of sport and uplift those who make it possible.

Saturday, October 7: Play Day

Enough talk; let's do this! Join us on Play Day and make lasting memories with your loved ones. Whether a casual row, a playful adventure, or simply enjoying the outdoors, let's celebrate the power of play and the positive impact it has on our youth.

Friday, October 6: National Coaches Day

Coaches are instrumental in providing guidance, support and mentorship. Celebrate yours, both past and present, using #NationalCoachesDay. To all coaches: We thank you for your passion, guidance, and commitment to nurturing the next generation of adults.

Thursday, October 5: Safety Day

Physical and psychological safety of athletes must always be our top priority. Browse and leverage resources provided by the USRowing Safety Committee and U.S. Center for SafeSport.

Wednesday, October 4: (More than a) Jersey Day

Tuesday, October 3: Training Day

An estimated 6.5 million sports coaches provide instruction to youth. Less than 5% have received relevant training. Explore the opportunities USRowing offers to help make every coaching experience a positive one.

Level 1 Coaching Certification

Cost: Free

Takes: 2-4 Hours

Format: Self-paced, online

Level 2 Coaching Certification

Cost: $280

Takes: 12-14 hours

Format: Includes both self-paced modules and live zoom instruction

Level 3 Coaching Certification

Cost: $750

Takes: Approximately 24 hours of live sessions and 50 hours of independentally-completed tasks and online modules

Format: 12 biweekly, live Zoom sessions and self-guided online modules and tasks

Adaptive Coaching Certification

Costs: Free

Takes: Approximately 3 hours

Format: Self-paced, online

Masters Coaching Certification

Cost: $250

Takes: Approximately 4 hours

BONUS: U.S. Soccer Foundation’s Coach-Mentor Training

This free Coach-Mentor Training trains coaches to serve as mentors and create positive connections with youth. The result? A physically and emotionally safe and inclusive youth sports experience for everyone.
