USRowing Masters National Championships Gets Underway Thursday

The 2023 USRowing Masters National Championships will be held this weekend from July 20-23 at Eagle Creek Reservoir in Indianapolis, Ind. The regatta will feature 1,720 entries from 126 clubs across 204 events.

Masters events are broken up into age categories from AA-K with AA representing the youngest and K representing 85 and older. To learn more about each age group category, click here. Masters rowers will race for 1000 meters rather than the traditional 2000.

The mixed E double sculls (ages 55-59) is the most popular event with 25 boats expected to race, followed by the women's club E-K (55-85 and over) quadruple sculls with 22. On the men's side, the open E double sculls is the most popular with 19 boats.

Texas Rowing Center is bringing the most boats with 108, followed closely by Riverfront Recapture, Inc. with 103. 81 boats will represent Lincoln Park Boat Club, the third largest presence at the event.

In addition to individual medals, masters competitors will be competing for a series of overall trophies throughout the event. These include the team points trophy, the Otter Island Cup, and the Vermillion-Chaleki Cup, among others.

In addition to racing, USRowing will host a variety of events and experiences throughout the weekend, available to all athletes and coaches. These include a hydration station, a beer garden, live music, and more. Visit RegattaCentral for the complete schedule of events.

Racing begins Thursday at 8:00 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. Friday through Sunday.
