USRowing is committed to fair play. Athletes must submit the following requirements by the respective deadline to be eligible for selection, training, or competing with the national team. Failure to adhere to these requirements will results in the loss of eligibility.Â
An active Championship Membership is required for national team athletes. To purchase or upgrade to Championship Membership, log into the USRowing individual member portal and click Upgrade or Renew based on your current membership status.
An active member agreement and waiver are required to have on file at all times. To review or sign the annual membership agreement and waiver, click Sign Agreement & Waiver once logged into the USRowing individual member portal.Â
Athletes on the national team are considered Relevant Adult Participants per the U.S. Center for SafeSport and require annual SafeSport training. To complete the SafeSport training, log into your USRowing individual member portal using your member number and password. Once logged in, click SafeSport from the sidebar navigation.
National team athletes must complete and submit a current 12 Lead ECG that’s signed by a doctor.Â
For athletes who are 22 years old or younger, ECG submissions are valid for up to three calendar years from the initial submission, and for athletes who are 23 years old or older, ECG submission are valid for up to five years from the initial submission.
A cardiologist selected by the USRowing Medical Committee will review all ECGs. By submitting the above medical documentation to USRowing, the athlete is agreeing to share this information with the USRowing Medical Committee and the cardiologist. In the case of an abnormal ECG, the USRowing Medical Committee may request additional testing for the athlete prior to their participation with the National Team. As noted in the selection procedures, a USRowing selected doctor may advise an athlete that they are medically unable to compete because the athlete’s physical condition would inhibit the performance of the boat per the doctor's diagnosis. If the athlete still chooses to compete, they must sign a waiver provided by USRowing.
Athletes must complete a cardiovascular physical examination annually to remain compliant each year they participate in selection, training, or competition for the national team. The form must be signed and dated by a doctor, it only needs to be submitted when an athlete is submitting a new ECG. To download the form, click HERE.

Athletes who are taking substances are responsible for verifying that they're permitted for in-competition and out-of-competition use using the Global DRO. To complete the USRowing Anti-Doping Acknowledgement, log into your USRowing individual member portal using your member number and password. Once logged in, click Anti-Doping from the sidebar navigation.
USRowing has partnered with the National Center for Safety Initiatives (NCSI) to provide discounted background checks to USRowing athletes. Background checks through NCSI must be renewed every two years. You will be contacted if you need to have a background check and instructions will be sent.
All athletes training or competing with USRowing's High Performance Team must have a passport that expires at least six months after all international travel. If you need to renew your passport, click HERE to begin.
